Data Ingestion Guideline
NSSDC data ingestion flow
1.Signing A Data Archive Plan
Before the starting of data ingestion, the data submitter needs to prepare a data archive plan. The Data Archive Plan is a guideline for data archive process, it defines the responsibilities for each party and specify the archive content. It also illustrates the process and arrange a schedule.
See Data Archive Plan Template on
The SIP including:
A metadata file
An introduction documentation
A data entity to be submitted
The data submitter prepares the metadata file and an Introduction Document as required. The data submitter also needs to standardize and organize the data to be submitted according to the requirements.
See Introduction Document sample on
Metadata file generating: In the data ingestion service, we also offer a metadata editor to generate metadata file. The metadata editor can provide a template for metadata compilation. It also will prompt that the required elements cannot be empty, and the some elements provide a drop-down value range for selection.
